About Us

I started my career in South Africa in the late 90's within the corporate sector with SASOL and later the financial sector with Ensemble Technology.

In 2002 I moved to the UK and worked predominantly as a freelancer within the digital agency sector. I started w3generation back in 2003 at the cusp of the internet revolution (w3generation = the www generation) as a brand for my consulting work. After a contract with Microsoft in Dublin, I moved back to the UK where I decided to refocus on consulting and started growing a varied and interesting client base.

Fast forward 20 or so years and w3generation has been involved in software consulting in the following industries:

  • Waste and Recycling
  • Advertising
  • Website builds and CMSs
  • Mobile apps and gaming
  • Sports management
  • Sports Betting
  • Surf equipment and lifestyle

Maybe our name has become outdated (we're really the mobile or AI generation these days) but we haven't stopped keeping up with all the latest technology and industry trends.

Kids Mobile Games

Like so many other parents, I started parenthood vowing that we would never be THAT family at the restaurant where all the kids are on devices. Oh how naive I was!

We soon fell into the trap of handing over our devices at restaurants, in the car, etc. mostly so we could have a bit of a break. We found some awesome educational apps that the kids could use but I was also appalled by some of the violent and overly stimulating apps available.

I decided to create digital versions of games we play as a family, and did so by involving my kids in the creative process, from choosing images to recording game sounds.

We took a simple concept like counting car brands during long holiday drives and converted it into something that they could use to keep track of the cars.

Another favorite we played in the car and at home was the "I spy with my little eye" game. We threw a new spin on it where the device chooses a random letter as the "I spy with my little eye" and the child playing the game will take a photo of something they spy that starts with that letter. There's also the random color version of the game.

This is a hobby I have become quite passionate about and recently published the apps to the app store much to the delight of my kids.
